Villa SORRISO owners Karen and Jack Huang have tapped into what Pasadena really needs. The Mediterranean-villa restaurant has a rustic yellow exterior that stands out from the whitewashed shops nearby. The courtyard offers some of the best outdoor dining in Pasadena with huge leafy trees, a fire pit, cascading fountain and (soon) private cabanas. Inside, the airy dining rooms are slick and modern, filled with locals and tourists alike.
Villa SORRISO offers a nice mix of pastas, chops, thin-crust pizzas and fresh seafood like garlicky oven-roasted mussels that come sizzling on a platter, and salmon with wild-mushroom and cilantro sauce atop a tasty corn-and-crab flapjack.
